Canada Invites 3,300 Canadian Experience Class Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw

Express Entry draw

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 3,300 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in the latest Express Entry draw, marking the second draw of the week. Candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507 to be considered.

This draw follows another on the previous day, where IRCC invited 1,121 candidates through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, requiring a minimum CRS score of 694.

IRCC has shown a trend of holding multiple draws every other week, with a particular focus on PNP and CEC draws. This strategy aligns with the department’s goal of reducing the number of temporary residents in Canada while meeting the permanent resident admissions targets outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026. IRCC aims to welcome 110,770 newcomers through Express Entry in 2024 and 117,500 in 2025. Candidates receiving ITAs later in the year are more likely to contribute to meeting the 2025 target, as IRCC has a six-month processing standard for finalized Express Entry applications.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is an application management system that oversees three key economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates are evaluated and ranked based on various human capital factors using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). These factors include occupation, work experience, age, education, language ability, and additional considerations like whether the applicant is immigrating with a spouse or has a sibling in Canada.

In May 2023, IRCC introduced category-based rounds of invitations for candidates who meet specific criteria related to occupation or language abilities.

If you’re considering immigrating to Canada, understanding the Express Entry system and how to maximize your CRS score is crucial for success in the immigration process.
