Caregiver Pathway to Canadian PR Reopens in 2024: Apply Now!

caregiver pilot programs

Great news for aspiring caregivers! Canada’s caregiver pilot programs, granting direct permanent residency, are open for fresh applications started from January 1st, 2024. Don’t miss your chance – spaces are limited, and the 2023 cap for Home Child Care Providers filled quickly!

Who can apply?

  • Experienced caregivers with 12 months (down from 24!) of full-time work (30 hours/week) in the past 3 years under NOC codes 4411 or 4412 (childcare or home support)
  • CLB 5 in English or French
  • 1 year of Canadian post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Pass admissibility checks

Why choose this pathway?

  • Fast-track to permanent residency: Skip lengthy Express Entry queues and secure your future in Canada.
  • High demand, high opportunity: Canada needs your skills! Caregivers are in high demand across the country.
  • Support for settlement: Many provinces offer dedicated services to help you adjust and find employment.

Act now!

Spaces are limited, so apply as soon as possible. The Home Support Worker Pilot still has openings for 2023, while the Home Child Care Provider Pilot filled its 2023 cap on April 14th, 2023. Be prepared to submit your application on January, after the cap resets.

Not eligible for PR?

Temporary resident caregivers can still extend their work permit through the TFWP, requiring a positive or neutral LMIA from your employer.

Explore your options, prepare your application, and take the first step towards your Canadian dream as a caregiver!
