This week witnessed significant developments across Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), as four provinces extended invitations for candidates to apply for Permanent Residence (PR) under various streams.

Here’s a summary of the latest provincial draws and their outcomes

Ontario: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

Ontario conducted a draw under its French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream on July 25th, issuing 95 Notifications of Interest (NOIs), akin to an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 321 to 374 were targeted.

British Columbia: Multiple Streams, Enhanced Nominations

On the same day, British Columbia held dual draws encompassing six streams of the British Columbia PNP (BCPNP). Notably, Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) Options Streams within BCPNP align with the federal Express Entry system, allowing nominated candidates to receive an additional 600 CRS points.

The initial draw granted 175 ITAs across several streams, featuring the following CRS cut-off scores:

  • Skilled Worker Stream—106 CRS cut-off;
  • Skilled Worker Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) Option Stream—106 CRS cut-off;
  • International Graduate Stream—109 CRS cut-off;
  • International Graduate EEBC Option Stream—109 CRS cut-off; and
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Stream—87 CRS cut-off.

The second draw targeted the Skilled Worker International Graduate Stream, focusing on specific professions:

  • Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 42202) with a CRS score of 60 received 30 ITAs;
  • Healthcare professionals with a CRS score of 60 received 30 ITAs; and
  • Priority occupations like Veterinarians (NOC 31103) and Animal Health Technologists and Veterinary Technicians (NOC 32104) with a CRS score of 60 secured at least four ITAs.

Manitoba: Multifaceted Draws

On July 28th, Manitoba conducted three draws across distinct streams:

  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream issued 299 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates with a minimum CRS score of 633;
  • International Education Stream granted 41 LAAs, with CRS scores undisclosed;
  • Skilled Worker Overseas Stream presented 15 LAAs to candidates with a CRS score of 726, under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Approximately 56 of the 354 LAAs issued appear to be for candidates with valid Express Entry profiles, indicating potential enhanced nominations.

Quebec: A Unique Draw

In addition, Quebec executed a draw through its provincial immigration program on July 20th. The draw invited 1633 candidates from the Arrima portal, Quebec’s independent immigration platform. Eligible candidates possessed:

  • Proficiency at level 7 in French, as per Quebec’s scale of French proficiency levels for adult immigrants, or its equivalent;
  • A CRS score of 596 points or higher; or
  • A valid job offer outside the Montreal Metropolitan Area.

In essence, these provincial draws collectively offer a diverse range of pathways to Canadian Permanent Residence, catering to a spectrum of skills, expertise, and language proficiencies. As provincial immigration programs continue to evolve, individuals aspiring to make Canada their home find themselves presented with promising opportunities across the nation.
