Manitoba Invites Skilled Workers Overseas in Latest Provincial Nominee Program Draw

Manitoba PNP Skilled Worker Overseas 2025

On May 1, 2025, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted another immigration draw under its Skilled Worker Overseas stream, continuing its consistent approach to inviting skilled talent throughout the year.

In this round, 26 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to candidates invited directly by the MPNP as part of a strategic recruitment initiative.

Key Highlights of the May 1 MPNP Draw

  • Stream: Skilled Worker Overseas
  • Number of Invitations: 26
  • Minimum Ranking Score Required: 727
  • Express Entry Integration: 7 of the invited candidates had valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes

Only candidates invited through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment efforts were considered in this draw, highlighting the province’s targeted approach to addressing labor shortages.

What Is a Strategic Recruitment Initiative?

Strategic recruitment initiatives are employer-supported efforts aimed at bringing skilled international talent into Manitoba, especially in sectors facing persistent shortages.

To participate:

  • Employers must meet the province’s hiring criteria and follow the ABC Recruitment Process
  • Once approved, employers can submit international candidate profiles to Manitoba Employer Services
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements related to age, language, work experience, and education

Preference is typically given to job roles and skills needed outside the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region, supporting economic development across the province.

About the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas stream under the MPNP offers a pathway to permanent residence for foreign nationals with strong connections to Manitoba. These connections can include:

  • Support from family or friends residing in Manitoba
  • Prior work experience or education in the province
  • A direct invitation from MPNP as part of a strategic recruitment initiative

Candidates must also score at least 60 points based on five selection factors:

  • Language proficiency
  • Age
  • Work experience
  • Education
  • Adaptability

This stream plays a crucial role in ensuring that Manitoba continues to welcome international talent aligned with the province’s labor market priorities.
